Susan Harvey, MD, is board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her obstetrical practice is a mix of low risk patients desiring unmedicated “natural” deliveries and higher risk patients, such as patients with advanced maternal age, those desiring VBAC, and twins. She also has a gynecological office and surgical practice, offering contraceptive options such as IUDs, alternatives for heavy menstrual bleeding like NovaSure endometrial ablationn, and treatment of abnormal pap smears.
She believes personal experience of having periods and childbearing is a benefit to caring for women. She tries to give her patients the experience she wanted for her own care: listening to their concerns and helping them make educated and informed health decisions. Dr. Harvey supports VBAC in Seattle.
Outside of clinical practice she has held leadership positions in the Washington State Chapter of American Congress of Obstetrician Gynecologists and the Seattle Gynecologic Society. She has recently been Department Chief of OB/GYN at Swedish Hospital and a board member of the Washington State Medical Association. She is currently on the Washington State Medical Quality Commission.
Dr. Harvey loves spending time with her family and her dog. She looks forward to traveling and likes to exercise, garden and read.
