The Operating Room Surgical Technologist assists the surgical team during operative procedures; arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operation and collaborates with the physician and the circulating nurse during the surgery to ensure a positive patient outcome. The person in this position functions as a member of the surgical team and must have a strong working knowledge of the OR based upon both A.S.T. and A.O.R.N. standards and recommended practices.

Education, Qualifications, Special Training, Certificates:

Maintains current Surgical Technologist license in the State of Washington.

Maintains current BLS certification.

One year of previous experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred.

The applicant must be able to communicate effectively with all physicians and staff.

The applicant must have strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation.

The applicant must have the ability to stand up to 6 hours per day, bend, stoop, twist, assistant patients in and out of wheelchairs and assist patients on and off the operative room table.
