The primary job of the IT Purchasing Specialist is to provide purchasing support to the IT Team and the user base at Proliance Surgeons. This includes, but is not limited to create, log, process, and track all IT purchases, and provide support for a busy group of IT professionals. This position is proactively involved in identifying ways to enhance efficiencies in the purchasing department, enhance relationships with vendors, track licensing, partner with finance team and ensure renewals are completed timely.  


The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for performing position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a central point of contact for Proliance Surgeons company wide purchasing IT hardware, software products and licenses
  • Provide monthly reports to management on warranties and service agreements and ensure all renewals are completed timely
  • Assist IT staff with purchasing, licensing, receipt, storage and disbursement of IT systems and components and maintain purchasing records within the CRM system
  • Operate the process to log/track organization IT purchase requests and ensure delivery to appropriate destinations
  • Perform inventory control including maintaining PC/printer/hardware/licensing and updating the asset database accordingly
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors to negotiate a fair price for goods and services being received
  • Maintain records of all bids and SOW’s received from vendors
  • Work with internal customers, review monthly purchasing report to ensure all charges are logged in the appropriate general ledger, prepare monthly hardware inventory purchasing detail to finance and provide reports to management personal as requested
  • Experience with invoicing and accounts payable to work with 80 different care centers to ensure GL coding is assigned properly
  • Maintain a list of standard hardware and software items for end users within Asset Management tool- Ivanti
  • Coordinate complete asset lifecycle including asset storage and properly documented asset disposal
  • Monthly reconciliation of credit card statement
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Other Duties:

  • Plan and complete assigned activities in an organized and cost-effective manner
  • Identify and suggest improvements to IT systems and procedures
  • Participate in professional development activities


  • Purchasing background required
  • Associate's degree at minimum required 
  • Minimum of four years of experience working in a purchasing role
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Win 7, Win 10 and Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work with complex compliance driven initiatives
  • Valid WA driver’s license
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience working with finance department preferred
  • Ivanti and Avidexchange experience is a plus
